OK so I have had some progress on the "getting-outta-Perth" front... my passport is ready to be picked up! Very exciting. Only problem is I have to pick it up before work, so I hope tomorrow isn't one of those "oops-slept-in-again" days!
On the downside, my accountant rang today and apparently I haven't submitted my 2004 tax return. F*&k. In any case, the positive to that is that I am sure for that particular period I was youth allowance only. And I do have the paperwork for that. But in any case, its just really annoying.
Another annoying thing is that I've just realised it's 10.54pm and I've completely forgotten about an invoice I have to do... again! Garrrrr. I always forget about those. Ooops now that I think about it, theres 2. Geeeeezuz. I have to remind myself to chat to the accountant about what happens with my BAS (GST crap) when I am away. I have a hard enough time doing it while I am here.... CRAAAAP ok NOW I remember I actually have one to do.. NOW. *insert a stream of expletatives HERE* grumble
OK. Guess what I'm doing NOW.
Heh. In any case. Got my passport yay!
(Oh. That's right. I need to go and get ANOTHER photo done because stupid post-office girl kept my last ones. Awesome.)

Bat for Lashes
I discovered this band today and oh my god... I LOVE them! The clips are also amazing... here are two of my favourites. The music is absolutely beautiful.
Plus I have a soft spot for BMX bikes!

Pulp Fiction in Typography
The "What does Marsellus Wallace Look Like" scene in Pulp Fiction portrayed using nothing but typography. By Jarratt Moody. (Warning... may contain some naughty words!)

Japanese design
The more I think about going to Japan, the more I get excited about checking out the design scene. The culture alone is enough to influence you in terms of design and creativity, but Japan is so distinctive and varied in what is produced through design that it is really quite mind blowing.
A site that really took my breath away was Groovision's website. Their motion graphic design work is astounding.
So excited!

Lots to do.
Oh I am so screwed with all the events and STUFF that is going down when I go arrghhh!! OK.. lemme get my head around this....
Clare and Mel are getting married (not to each other ahaha) and I'm a bridesmaid for both of them (insert responsibilities and remembering stuff HERE). That's all well and good, but they're 2 weeks apart from each other, and there's the hens nights!! So the weeks leading up to me leaving are going to be:
Hens night one week, wedding and engagement the next, my going-away party and hens night the next and then another wedding following that then I GO. I LEAVE!! hahaa shit.
Anyway, I'll survive drinking-wise, it's just sleep deprivation I'm concerned about!
So I started my list of companies who I can contract to in Melbourne.... it's a nice little list! I've got 5 that have emailed me back to say they are interested, and one contracting agency that specialises in web/IT that I will ring Monday. Looks like I can start work on the Wednesday that I'm there - I'll need the first 2 days just to go to meetings :-S
That means I have to brush my hair and put on a nice frock hahahaa. Too funny.
I've also decided that I want my stopover to the UK to be in Japan. My friend Marisol is working there, and I just love Japanese food and culture, and have met so many awesome Japanese people. So a week there would be awesome! But now its a matter of sorting out my visa and then the ticket... I'm counting on Matt to help me with that!! (LOVE love love to him - he's at FlightCenter whoohoo!)
Yeerrr... VISA. Fuck there are so many forms and CRAP for this thing.... eh, I'll sort it hahaaa.
Now all I have to do is kick-arse in Melbs with the work.. oh, and sort out where exactly I will be staying hahah!!

The first day of the rest of my life...
...and I woke up on a friends couch, fuzzy around the edges from boozing it up the night before. Typical.
So here's the plan: leave Perth, live in Melbourne for 2 months (contract work) and then fly to London!
Anyway, I resigned yesterday. I was so nervous about doing it, but it went really well - much better than what I could have ever imagined! Leading up to the event, all I could see was the disappointed look on my boss' face. Instead, I had a happy boss who gave me huge hugs! And then gave everyone booze! He's done the traveling thing before, so he was completely understanding. I think (actually, know) I would have received a completely different response if I had announced I was going to another company!
So the boozing continued on for me last night. Red wine, cocktails, troopsing around to different bars in Northbridge. After 2 consecutive days of 4 hours sleep, I ended up passing out on my friend's couch, waking up at 7.00am (I am now programmed thanks to work) and driving home in a post-booze haze.
Now it's research time... making lists of what I have to do in the next month, figuring out what loose ends I have to tie up, and making sure I get my shit sorted. I can't believe I leave in 5 weeks... this is crazy! I think it's come quite suddenly, but I just have to do it. Work won't be a problem. In fact, if anything I'll have to make sure I don't work too much! I will definitely work my bum off over in Melbourne, but I want to make sure I live life to the fullest in London, and that means getting away from the computer and exploring.
Things are going to get absolutely manic - and that's the way I like it!
